Dr. Deane Waldman, MD, MBA

Dr. Deane Waldman, MD, MBA, is an Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics, Pathology, and Decision Science at the University of New Mexico. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served in numerous leadership roles, including Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Chicago, Director of the Center for Healthcare Policy at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, Chairman of Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico, and Director of the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange Board.
Dr. Waldman earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Chicago Medical School. He completed postgraduate medical training at Northwestern University and Harvard University, and later obtained a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate Schools.
A prolific author, Dr. Waldman has written 14 books, including his most recent title, Empower PATIENTS—Two Doctors’ Cure for Healthcare. In addition, he has published more than 450 articles spanning medical journals such as Pediatric Cardiology and Circulation, as well as widely read publications including The Federalist, The Huffington Post, The Hill, Forbes, Investor’s Business Daily, RealClear Health, The American Spectator, National Review, and The Washington Examiner.
